Assimilation

I firmly believe everyone residing in the United States should assimilate.
Give up their foreign ideology.
Learn the language.
Swear allegiance to the Constitution.
Pull your pants up.

Stop voting Democrat.

  1. Amen. A sound policy.

This was the actual immigration policy until "Swimmer" Kennedy changed it up ( well except the voting Democrat part).

  4. Does assimilate mean:

    * Be able to speak and read passable English
    * Understand and behave according to expected social behavior (e.g. don't spit on the sidewalk, don't throw your trash out the window, do walk on the right)
    * Treat other people respectfully

If so, I don't know how many of us are assimilated anymore!

    Alec

PS I agree with your post.

  5. A secular society? No. That sounds like one bereft of religious expression.
A society that respects individual beliefs, wherein the citizens are allowed to express those beliefs in the public arena without fear of reprisal? Yes.

  6. P.S. I agree with your post.
    I concur on every point.
    I am a smart person.

  7. Is the reprisal severe, Ed?

Just what form does it take?

    Evolution taught in schools?

    Discrimination against gays prohibited?

    Abortion still legal?

If this is what you see as reprisal then how can we resolve it?
Deny homosexuals the right to a civil contract because of religious objections?
Accept a literal translation of Genesis?

Fundamentalists are just going to have to accept certain restraints.

  8. "Deny homosexuals the right to a civil contract".
There's not a Christian I know opposes that.
Marriage we oppose. Being forced to accept transgenders in our private areas. Prosecuted for hate speech.

    Certain restraints are fine.
Losing your teaching job for questioning evolution?

    3. Thanks for noticing. I didn't know any of my employees (only a handful) read this. Or felt that way.

  12. This bigot is totally with you, Ed.
If those who didn't agree with you would stop and question you further, they might learn you're not a bigot....
Faith can't exist anymore, Ed..not for lefties with a supposed 'open mind' who deem you immoral for the traditional, healthy values which kept us going for so many years...
(now slavery will be brought up as a 'value' I support, tho that's always been the farthest thing from anything I've written...wait for it...1, 2, 3.......)
Darn, if you don't want to kill babies, you're just not allowed your feelings, Ed. GROW UP (sarcasm)
