Preparing to Paint My Boat

I have a lot of layers of paint on the roof of my boat, including enamel and urethane.
There's some cracking and chipping on the roof where the shelter it was under beat against it in a violent storm.
I hope to paint it before next summer.
I live in hope.
I used to paint cars but haven't done so in a few years.
I was told that the best product to get the paint off the roof of my boat before painting is:
Aircraft Paint Stripper.
I wonder if they use Boat Stripper on Aircraft.

I showed it to the guy behind the counter.
No one had ever pointed it out before.

  2. I think that's a smart move. Sell a product for a specific purpose, and place a warning label to discourage the use for that specific purpose. It's like putting a group of attorneys in a round room and telling them to pee in the corner.

    1. What could go wrong?
"Caution contents may taste like coffee." On a cup of coffee.

    1. Me too. I'd rather sand, but I like to breathe too.
