Being There

This is from a 1979 Peter Sellers movie, Being There.
Rent it.
It is not like any other Peter Sellers movie.
It is so understated that it isn't til the closing credits blooper scene that you realize the art Sellers put into the role.

and it explains Obama.
Sellers plays Chance the gardener who is later inadvertently regarded as Chauncey Gardiner.
People read into him whatever they want. Because there's nothing there.
In the end they plan to run him for president.
Because he has no background, no records, nothing to be held accountable for, or against.
Can you imagine that happening in real life?

Here he talks to the president.
