Happy Independence Day!

Lets look at some reasons we broke from the King of England.
From the Declaration of Independence:
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
(Defense of Marriage, Immigration?)
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
(Arizona, Immigration, Voter ID?)
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
(Czars, Obamacare, IRS, NSA?)
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation.
(Sharia Law, Law of the Sea, UN Gun Control?)

This Fourth of July, gather your family and read to them the Declaration of Independence.Stop eating long enough to discuss it.
Have a moment to think about it.
Reflect that men died, saw their fortunes whither (went broke), survived battles to Declare that Independence.
Then, enjoy the fireworks!

  1. The Story of the Declaration of Independence contains a few details that most Americans don't know.

    Happy Independence Day, Ed!

  2. Nice. His entering into agreements that would bring Russian troops should an emergency arise (at his declaration) violating posse comitas. It was revealed this week by the Russian Press.

    Happy 4th.

  3. Independence Day, at least for Conservative Americans, has the message of hope and strength of the individual and not some "big government" love affair. Sadly, alot of the low information voters identify with the Will Smith movie vs. the historical context of our founding and sacrifice. Wave the flag on this day of days and be proud to call yourself a true American.

  4. AOW: Adams thought we'd be celebrating the Second of July!
Pasc: I'll look for that, unless you posted and I missed it.
Rosey: My flag still flies upside down.

    1. I have not posted it because I have no further confirmation. And given the source -- well you decide.

I apologize for not including this before, but earlier I was on my way out the door yet I did not want to not alert you of this possibly additional affront to us. It's easy to believe Bummer would do it; getting the Senate to ratify such a treaty requires only 2/3 of Senators PRESENT. A quorum means that only 34 senators are needed. And nobody in their right mind should doubt that Harry Reid would try to pull some maneuver to use so few (or even fewere).

    2. Today there was more news on this. AoSHQ calls it BS in the 1st item of this overnight open thread http://minx.cc/?post=341506

Apparently the BS claim is based on some deeper snooping by Stacy McCain. However, it is not clear from the S. McCain link that he concluded that. He tells mostly that FEMA seems to be denying a lot while putting up BS of its own and dragging it out. Like they like us feeling uncomfortable. McCain was irritated at how much work he had to go through and not really get to the bottom.

The Ace conclusion was arrived at because Alex Jones touted it early -- and that was enough to destroy its credibility. Not if later leaks are intentionally sent to InfoWars by the crooked administration exactly to discredit the original leaks. We live in interesting times.

  6. When "Justice" Roberts decided in favor of Obamacare, I drove into my driveway and saw my flag.
Flying a flag upside down is a symbol of distress.
It would be illegal to do it on my boat, unneeded.

  7. Crap. I wrote this exact post yesterday to publish on Saturday. Links to King Obama's abuses and everything.

Great minds and all of that I guess.

Now I have to write something else.

You do realize it is always about me, right?

  8. Joe, you could post his comment and link.
This really was a repost of last years fourth and on that I referenced a recording of my saying the same thing on Bill Bennett's show that day.
This year Bennett said the same thing without prompting.
