Let's review.
A charitable organization composed of women who have pledged their lives to helping dying people, and never engaging in sexual activity, must supply themselves with health insurance that guarantees themselves coverage for contraception and abortion.
This, by federal law, brought to you by the Obama Regime and the Democratic Party.
A regime that gives waivers to tons of other groups demands that these women violate their conscience.
They had to appeal to the Supreme Court for protection.
The same Obama Regime that just freed from prison early a terrorist supporter, is throwing the full weight of the Department of Justice (snort!) against the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Where are anti-bully demonstrations from the left now?
The Regime has offered them an out.
They should authorize some other group to supply the disputed services.
Give their permission to someone else to do in their name, what they find repugnant.
An administration with no moral base or integrity would see this as a perfectly reasonable option.
What say you?
I read a news report that the Supreme Court members are either Catholic, or Jewish; two faiths that supported values in times that seemed without values.
ReplyDeleteStranger things have happened, but my experience tells me the Supreme court does things that surprise even those that are experts.
Time will tell, but I think the Supreme Court may be realizing some of their duties are to protect the basic principles of liberty dictated by the Constitution; even if those they should protect aren't able to plea their case.
I've been waiting for someone to mention that The Wise Latina was raised Catholic.
DeleteHer faith dictates the laws of men shouldn't circumvent the laws of God. I wonder if her faith is as strong as her political beliefs? If so, the subterfuge, obvious evil intents and bumbling of the current administration should lead to some decisions that ultimately return the balance of power.
DeleteConsider writing commentaries as if we are talking to a bunch of miscreant adolescents. The tone at times like this might be "you are clearly not fooling a very large majority of us; what makes you think you will fool Him?'
ReplyDeleteIf only they had a fear of Him.
DeleteThey certainly act like miscreant adolescents.
No way will Sotomayor let her faith get in the way of her politics; I believe the delays are just lip service, knowing the political thing will take over and she'll look faithful. May God forgive me if I'm wrong (or right!) I SO SO hope I'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteI read that the law doesn't really force the nuns into this, anyway; I wish I could remember where.
Pascal's right...I so often want to ask "do you REALLY think we are ALL THAT STUPID?" when I hear Obama or HIS fellow miscreants!
The law allows them to sign a waiver allowing someone else to provide the coverage for them. This would make them complicit, morally.
DeleteThey won't.
and I wanted to say I'm glad you've found the hilarious, wonderful Chattering Teeth! isn't he terrific? :-)
ReplyDeleteNow that he's psting again.
DeleteThanks Z! Check is in the mail :) YOU are the very best.
DeleteHey! I thought my ears were burning and my cheeks blushing. My posting history is rather bi-blog-polar. As for Sotomayor, the wife and I were talking about this yesterday. I always reserved hopes that her nomination would come back to bite The One like Sandra Day O'Connor did to Reagan... or Justice Roberts to W for that matter. Time will tell.
