You should listen to this

Bill Bennett is running a program to develop commercials written by ordinary folk that will resonate with voters.

Here's one sample. Commercial one. I like this one a lot.

Here's another: Commercial number two.  Scherie likes it.

She said so. Caught me by surprise again.

  2. Scherie, like you, is succinct as she articulates her thoughts. To a talk show host; especially one of Dr. Bennet's stature; that's what makes a good show and validates their being on the air. I say that's a good thing.

  3. The first one is good, gets right to the heart of the issue: I like it.

2nd one, not so much. The guy sounds too polished, too professional, not genuine. I'm not suggesting that he isn't who he says he is, but he just doesn't sound like it when you listen to him. Secondly, he bemoans just getting out of college and not being able to land a job right away that coincides with his interests: welcome to the NLF, college boy. NOBODY gets a job right out of college that coincides with their degree. Well, almost nobody. I got my degree in marketing/management (double major, woo hoo), and what was the first job I was able to land to make ends meet out of college? Sitting at a metal band saw cutting blocks of big steel into little pieces of steel. Nearly everyone takes a job sweeping floors at first: if you don't know how to sweep a floor, how are you ever going to move up the ladder?

Maybe I'm missing the point, though. Wouldn't be the first time.
