Speaking of Aircraft

Scherie and I went to breakfast today at the Bomber Restaurant
in Ypsilanti this morning.
Like the owner says, it's more a museum than a diner.

Scherie and a friend of ours who happened to be there.
That's our friend's younger brother (in town for a visit) in the pic above.

  1. You didn't mention it, but how near or far was Ford's Willow Run plant from the diner?

    1. About 7 miles. Not around the corner :)
But Ypsi was the nearest "big" city, Belleville being a small farm village at the time.
Did you notice the Eastern (MSNC) jersey?
I think of you (and your dad) when I see it.

    2. Yes. But isn't that Jersey, with its Adidas logo, greatly misplaced in time? The MSNC changed its name to EMU in 1956, long past the glory days of those bombers. It certainly would be more fitting to see one of those striking Hurons on the wall.

I'm guessing it must be the jersey of the diners' owner or a relative, so it is his prerogative if he wants to display it out of time. :) I can't read the inscription below.

    1. They were all 3 egg. I can't eat that much and remember it fondly :)
I had the two eggs special.
But I've been told they are.

  3. What a great place! We have some small-scale joints like that up here, but nothing on that scale.
