My Brother-in-law, Bob Adis passed Saturday.
We attended his funeral today.
I came across a tribute to him at another blog.

I couldn't say it any better.
I knew Bob since I was 5 years old.
He dated my sister and later married her and stayed with her for 55 years, almost to the day.
He was like a father to me at times.
I lived in his home and ate at his table.
Bob became a born again Christian late in life.
But he made up for lost time, teaching Bible Study, doing outreach to the less fortunate.
When the funeral concluded, he got a standing ovation.
I'm proud to say, I knew Bob.
I am so very sorry. What an honorable man. Prayers for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd known him. But I will, one of these days. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd many like him.
DeleteWow! He left this earth doing God's work. Sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteGood way to go. Thanks.
DeleteI'm sorry for your loss
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joe.
DeleteCondolences, and may he rest in the peace of knowing the Lord.
ReplyDeleteYou make me think. Bob didn't know how to rest.
DeleteThere better be work in heaven! :)
But thanks, NFO. I appreciate the sentiment.
It's easier knowing he's in the presence of Jesus.
Ed: Sorry for your loss. I, too, had a brother in law that was pretty much a brother to me. I knew him when he was dating my older sister when I was 7 yrs old, and grew up knowing him as a brother. I know that I will see him someday, and look forward to our family re-union with God. My prayers for your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bob.
DeleteSounds similar.

ReplyDeleteHe must have been a fabulous man...I'm so sorry for your loss...for the loss to so many.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all. I just got home from visiting with my sister and my nephew was there.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is so worried about her that the 5 kid's loss tends to get neglected.
But she's doing well.
