My Talk with Bill

Yesterday, I watched a video at Angel's blog.
I highly recommend it and highly relate to it.
Please watch it.
It was mentioned on Bennett yesterday.
I was on Bennett this morning.
The subject of my sensitivity training was discussed along with the Popes offer of forgiveness for abortion.
Powerful stuff, if I do say so myself.

  1. It'd be helpful if you find the minutes/seconds and let us know when YOU are on :-)
Tho I do like to listen to Bennett and his sidekick!

Ed, the problem with the Pope's forgiveness is that he clearly said "Priests can forgive"... they're "authorized"...and I think that's less powerful and constructive for Catholics than learning that they're forgiven by God, and that's what counts. Clearly, Catholicism is a different doctrine and I totally get that...I'm not the anti-Catholic lots of Protestants are, but I wish he'd encourage women (and men, let's face it, sometimes the women want the abortion and the men don't and are devastated after it's done) to pray for forgiveness themselves.....and feel that forgiveness from Him.

    1. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your listening and commenting.
      Thank you.
I actually considered doing that, but I thought the segment was of a whole cloth, one thing leading to another.
      Yes, the doctrinal difference.
But I took the topic as an opening.
There was a certain person who called in a couple weeks ago that I was hoping was listening.
She once had an abortion and is still pro-choice, but feels abortion is wrong.
I was thinking of her as I spoke.

    2. Hi Z, I haven't had time to read up on the latest message from Pope Francis. I have some catching up to do over the 3day wkend (YES!!!). But as a practicing Catholic, I'm glad you're not an 'anti'. The 'authority' was given to the Church by Jesus. "‘As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’" (John 20:21–23).

  2. Ed, I love that you were talking about that for her to hear....I'm sure she was blessed; SO HOPE she was listening and got the blessing!! You were very kind.
I understand her attitude...she wouldn't do it again, she feels it was wrong, but feels women should make the choice themselves...Let's hope that, someday, she decides no woman will want to make that awful choice.

  3. Ed, I loved the dropbox episode (as always). May I just say that whoever it was that reported you is a good little PC soldier (read 'jacka**).
