A Different Kind Of Christmas Present

The Ghost Of Christmas Present.

He does not live in men's hearts only one day of the year.

A funny thing happened today.
We went to Cracker Barrel after church and Scherie tells the manager how grateful she is for all the Christ centered Christmas music and decorations.
The lady says "And it will never change" and as we walk away she says "Happy Holi.... Merry Christmas!".
We all laughed.

A friend who is a missionary said to take the Christ out of Christmas and put Him in our everyday activity.
That was different.

  1. No matter what anyone believes, Christmas is about peace and goodwill to all. Everyone should relish what it offers and pattern their lives around the belief that the greatest gifts are not purchased in a department store, and we're all in this together.

  3. Jess beat me to it. The sign in my office window - right above the little Christmas tree - says, "Merry Christmas!" No one's been offended yet. :)

  7. creepy! I'd left the same sentiment about Christ and Christmas and the commment's not here any longer!?
Anyway, loved that story of Cracker Barrel and will dovetail it now with how my uncle took me to lunch to a very 'cool' restaurant in Santa Monica yesterday..hip, young, you know...
And, lo and behold, if we didn't hear CHRISTMAS MUSIC (and not all secular) coming out of the company party in the private room around the corner. We were BOTH pleasantly surprised!

We MUST live with Christ in EVERY DAY....I think a lot of us do, but we can always do better. What better reminder is CHRISTMAS!?
Thanks, Ed, and blessings to you and Scheri now and always.

It's nice to be pleasantly surprised by the real spirit of Christmas, eh?

  10. Merry Christmas, Ed. I think the War on Christmas by those mean spirited lefties is a losing cause, there's too many Christians out here, and we all love Cracker Barrel.

    And that's a good thing.
