” Liar, liar, liar”
Would they imagine they were hearing a 4 year old, or a presidential candidate?
I'm going with 4 year old. In my wife's words, in 2016 we're forced to choose between the evil of two lessers.
ReplyDeleteCruz? Evil?
DeleteYou can equate Trump's egomaniacal cruelty and insults to Cruz?
DeleteCruz is much more of a sociopath.
DeleteWhat is your evidence for that charge?
DeleteI believe the correct answer is: a presidential candidate who acts like a 4 year old. We'll get exactly what we deserve in November.
ReplyDeleteI guess it isn't a binary choice.
DeleteAnd we'll get what somebody else deserves.
AMEN Ed! It's going to take a miracle for us to get a good President this go around. We all need to 'pray without ceasing' concerning our Nation. God bless. ~:)
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right about prayer.
DeleteThe political process this year is fraught with peril.
Sounds also like a Freshman English class!
ReplyDeleteThat says fail about freshmen!

ReplyDeleteI gave him credit and said, months ago, that you'd not hear anyone over 10 (not 4) say "mean"....
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, we WILL get only what somebody else deserves. It's not like we didn't try. Trump certainly doesn't stand for most Republicans, that is FOR SURE.
Who does?
DeleteFor a party that was supposed to have such a strong bench you seem to have come up empty.
I'm down with the "sociopath".
DeleteI like this so much I edited it for general consumption by breaking down the either or question into one that contrasts current times to better heeled ones.
ReplyDeleteBefore the current season, if a conversation was published that was peppered with:
“He was mean to me.”
“He’s nasty, so nasty”
He’s stupid, really stupid.”
“They didn’t treat me fairly.”
” Liar, liar, liar”
what are the odds that the reader would presume the comments were made by a 4 year old?
Now think back. Name the first presidential candidate who spoke this way?
Obama?
DeleteThe Dauphin?
DeleteED!! Bill Bennett's radio days are OVER? WHAT???

DeleteWell I know you can't replace Bill, but given that Larry Elder is a UM Law grad, Ed from Ypsi may find another welcome.
DeleteI never cared for his show EXCEPT when my neighbor, Ed was on it. I agree with the above and that we should skip the middle man. The Ed from Ypsi Show!
DeleteI can be accused of being naive, but I haven't resigned myself to assuming trump will win. I think it will be Cruz. And yes im praying.
ReplyDeleteIn my view, our culture as whole has turned into enjoying and practicing tantrums. Mass ADHD?
ReplyDeleteI think you are describing Trump cultists. His support is one large tantrum.
DeleteAs for the ADHD, I think you might be on to....
What were we talking about?
I saw evidence of this in other venues before Trump came on the political scene.
DeleteFor example, a few years ago, policy debate tournaments turned into ranting fests instead of being events about presenting reasoned and reasonable evidence.
Our culture has descended into one of rants.
Trump didn't cause this, but he is a reflection thereof. Just look at the episodes of various television shows such as situation comedies and late night talk shows.
PS: And Hillary is screaming and ranting, too.
Then these figures have become focal points or discharge paths.
DeleteNot good.
4 year old... :-)
ReplyDeleteCan't fool you!

this post has gotten me re-thinking--

Re-thinking can be good :)
