"You furnish the video and I'll furnish the Race War"

From Wikipedia:
A famous story which has been often repeated involves (William Randolph) Hearst (the newspaper chain owner) and Frederic Remington, an artist (an artist? the Famous Remington?!) hired to provide illustrations to accompany a series of articles on the Cuban Revolution.

According to this story, Remington (who had barely left his hotel room while in Cuba) soon became bored with seemingly peaceful Cuba and wired Hearst on January 1897:

"Everything is quiet. There is no trouble. There will be no war. I wish to return." To which Hearst's purported reply was: "Please remain. You furnish the pictures and I'll furnish the war."

Where would the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case be without the media egging it on?
Do they continue egging it on because:
  1. to drop it would be to admit wrong?
  2. It continues to generate ad revenue?
  3. Race riots will be even bigger news (ad revenue)?
Tin foil hat time:
What is Rex Obama's interest?
What will race riots do to promote his agenda?

  2. This smells of a manufactured crisis, one that the great O can step into and take charge of to bolster his sliding ratings.
