Normandy

On this day in 1944, my Dad, Nate Weiser and a lot of other guys visited Europe.
With guns.
To set her free from invaders who had subjugated her.
Today, they invite invaders to subjugate them.
What a shame.

  1. From Brittanica:

Normandy Invasion, also called Operation Overlord, during World War II, the Allied invasion of western Europe, which was launched on June 6, 1944 (the most celebrated D-Day of the war), with the simultaneous landing of U.S., British, and Canadian forces on five separate beachheads in Normandy, France. By the end of August 1944 all of northern France was liberated, and the invading forces reorganized for the drive into Germany, where they would eventually meet with Soviet forces advancing from the east to bring an end to the Nazi Reich.

  2. That generation, those men who stormed the beaches, or dropped by parachute behind them.......would not recognize Europe today. What exactly did they fight for?

  3. God Bless the Greatest Generation. I am thankful I was born a ''tweener' but have nothing but respect for your dad and his buddies.

  4. I was an atheist most of my life. Things changed. As the third Islamic invasion progressed I recovered from alcohol, and became close to you people who accept God. The cultural Marxists have that sickness as their religion. They need totalitarian control over peoples' belief structure. We are at war, an International war to hold on to our civilisation. My father had a lucky war, he shot crocodiles to eat at Guadal canal after your people had taken it back.

    1. Were you left politically? Or apolitical?
We need to shoot (figuratively) liberals to survive.

    2. I was in private practice as a City Veterinarian, so I couldn't notice too much going on . I gave up work early to share bringing up my daughter. I thought stardust would land on my shoulders.. I joined the Green party to attempt to hold out the Red. No show. I watched as the left dominated all NZ planning, our Centre right party is now progressive liberal. New Zealand can still be a safe haven if we act with fury. We are in a dangerous position. Australia is weak, its Liberal party I can smell it from Bangkok. We have a chance in New Zealand, but believe me they are asleep mostly. We have elections in September. Our Nationalist man is 70, alcoholic, somewhat charismatic, but we will need much more in the future. I promote the idea as you that we must act, that four men in private enterprise could have prevented Manchester.

  5. Well said.
In 1944 we had young men running toward bullets, today we have college students looking for coloring books, play-doh and videos of fluffy kittens.
