It sort of looks like New York did today. The zombies were all inside. If I had a convertible, I might have taken a ride around. Who would have thought that the Omega Man would have turned out to be a documentary.
According to wiki, this movie is an adaption from the 1954 novel, I Am Legend. That's why I thought of the Will Smith version. In today's real life version, the cult of nocturnal albino mutants are actually the democrats. Pretty scary stuff.
I know I read the book, and I can't remember the ending. I didn't enjoy the Will Smith version; I liked the original with Charlton Heston. Imagine all the work it took to establish a home like he had!
In the book, at the end, the zombies capture Kim and put him on trial for murder. Not everyone he killed was a bad guy. Most of them just had an aversion to sunlight. At his sentencing, he realizes he has become their Boogeyman, their Dracula, he will become a legend In their culture.

I saw some video of empty New York on Tucker tonight and it reminded me of this.

I read the book. The ending is not represented in either version and explains the title, "I Am Legend".
