Olympic Arms, a manufacturer of semiautomatic rifles and AR-15-style firearms, announced Tuesday it will no longer be doing business in New York as a result of the state's new ban on assault-style weapons, according to the Times Union.
The company explained its decision in a post on its Facebook page: "Legislation recently passed in the State of New York outlaws the AR15 and many other firearms, and will make it illegal for the good and free citizens of New York to own a large selection of legal and safe firearms and magazines. We feel as though the passage of this legislation exceeds the authority granted to the government of New York by its citizens, and violates the Constitution of the United States."

Just to clarify, who is the coward here, Olympic Arms, or the state of New York? I'm confused.

ReplyDeleteIf they think the law is unconstitutional, they should challenge it, perhaps through their manufacturers association.
AOW, Big City mayors have been looking at that for years but it appears to have gone nowhere. So far.
In 2005, federal law was passed protecting gun makers from that liability.

ReplyDeleteI read it as a great thing to (pardon the non-intended pun) stick to their guns. They're showing they're not going to put up with New York; more business gone from there for their stupid laws.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone in today's American politics that closely resembles the son of God it would have to be Rick Perry of Texas. He has gone into Gamorrah and is leading the slaves out of the land into the land of Texas tea. Those who live in the liberal enclaves of NY, LA, SF and other states and cities who have gone to the dark side will be migrating, en masse, to the promised land. Let those enclaves implode under their own weight and filth.
