I feel it's necessary to point out, Ed, that the right has been front and center bombarding leftists with "libtard", "liberalism is a mental disease" and a myriad of insults. The right is far from being devoid of hate.
I'll also say again that the tragedy of our national dialog, aside from the insults (thanks, Rush) is how much time we spend trying to define one another rather than trying to understand and compromise.
While I am guilty of having said "liberalism is a mental disease" to the chagrin of a liberal friend of mine who read it, it was hyperbole and I apologize.
There is some mental component that drives some liberals however. Not all. Certainly the one I was describing at the time, but it can become a type of bigotry.
But it wasn't hate.
There are all sorts of liberals just as there are all sorts of people on the right. We tend to react to the most vocal/activist in each group. Lot of people in the middle is how I look at it.
I'm not sure what you think was shredded but we sure didn't shred the archaic electoral college.
Electoral college archaic? It is brilliant! Give the little guys a bit more leverage so Massachusetts, New York and Virginia don't outright run the country. Scalable to today.
