What is the proper response to watching a woman get tazed by a "school resource officer" for not wearing a mask outdoors?
We all know cops can ignore minor infractions at their discretion.
But this guy decided to taze her. Because of a stupid mask law.
Outside. And then he's not wearing one.
I know the visceral reaction I have to watching it.
And then to arrest worshipers outdoors?
If they had been rioting, they'd have been ignored.
Is it proper to rescue a citizen from abuse?

I think so. I question if I would rise to the ocassion. It hasn't happened yet in my presence.

So, I've heard from conservatives that we should not interfere with the police. Let the courts work it out.

Unfortunately, you'd be in a lose-lose situation regardless of the 'over-zealousness' of the LEO. Depending on the state, you'd find yourself charged with a number of criminal violations, even if you tried to effect a 'citizen's arrest' on the LEO. No prosecutor is likely to charge the officer based on the Citizens intent to protect...the best you could hope for without finding yourself incarcerated, is to record, have witnesses, get media exposure and file a criminal complaint.
My admiration for LEOs writ large has taken a huge hit of late.

Driving to work this morn, I considered the "citizen's arrest" tack (don't harm the 'officer', but stop and detain), and you've answered that.
That guy is a bad cop.
It's a life changing decision.
How much more will it take for us to get the lesson as to where we are headed? Re-education camps are next. History tells us that it is the way it works.

I would first tell the woman to stop resisting and to submit to arrest. But I can see that unraveling and also see myself possibly sitting in a cell.
I think I would have started out arguing with the "student resource officer".
Then end up in jail.
I just talked about this on air and Pascal Fervor just called me and said I could be in danger for saying what I said on air about what I would have done. :)

I'm in CI's corner. Lawsuit, baby ... As for the copper, see how well affirmative action is working? We need more of that stuff. Personally, I question the requirement to obey a bad law, by which I mean, an un-Constitutional law. CI's approach is the best one, since even corrupt and stupid police hate it when you shoot at them.

I have been pulled over quite a number of times for traffic infractions like tint, no muffler, speeding, etc. However, not once was I harassed, cuffed or tazed... because I complied. There is a place to argue and that's in court.
I have no true idea what prompted this cop to taze her. All I know is I would not have freely decided to put me into a position of getting a cop upset me.
