Oh my goodness, that was fantastic! The words gave me goose bumps. Thank you for sharing. Happy CHRISTmas to you and yours Ed. So happy that you are one of my brothers in Christ. ~:)
OH, that is SO SWEET...so well done. Thanks, Ed! A very cool story I just heard from my ex business partner, who is English and was in THE NICE with Keith Emerson before coming to America and going into business with little ol' ME, is about QUEEN (Bohemian Rhapsody folks, as you know). My partner Lee is now doing gigs around England and was in a club recently when Queen's Brian May approached him and said he used to go to clubs to hear THE NICE with Freddie Mercury and they founded QUEEN on the heels of THE NICE because THE NICE was one of the first rock bands to incorporate a classical feeling, like Queen did. Isn't that cool? Lee was stunned! I love 'inside scoop' on musicians! (you should hear all the stories Lee's told me about being at Rod Stewart's 30th birthday, or knowing Elton John when he was "Fat Reggie Dwight" (his real name) etc etc...and he even knew the Beatles back in the day. I loved this....thanks. I am glad you had a lovely Christmas; I sure did!
That is great. I've never been fond of Queen because of the overt homosexuality of Mercury, but the talent is undeniable (like that of Cole Porter). I used to listen to The Nice. How rewarding that must have been for Lee, to hear that. I am glad you had a great Christmas. Our one son and his family just left our delayed Christmas.
You know THE NICE? That is so cool. They weren't a very well known band but I can't tell you how many people I've met who have heard of them or even have an album! I owe Lee a letter (he hates email!) and I'll mention this. And yes, he was REALLY 'chuffed' as they say, to have Brian May approach HIM! :-)
