I have two friends who are marines.
My best friend and his son.
The son, Ian, an MP, was on Okinawa and was shot in the face over the holidays.
We don’t know how. NCIS investigation.
Ian was flown to Balboa in San Diego.
Any prayers for them is appreciated.

Ian has a long road ahead of him.
We still do not know what led to this.
The Marines are going all out for him.
Ian continues to improve; he is off all sedation to as needed for now, off all pain medication to as needed for now. Except Tylenol. He is resting peacefully. They have a meeting with the care team today to discuss the plan of care for Ian.
Jeff told me he grabbed Ian's hand and Ian squeezed it back. Then started moving his other hand, which he hadn't before.
