For Your Independence Day Enjoyment

I interviewed William Federer concerning our history and the attempts to place us under socialism.

As always, Bill is informative and entertaining.

    1. Thank you. It cracked up my dentist almost as well as when he approached me with floss and I shrunk back in fear and said "What's that stuff for?".

  2. Excellent and fun interview.

Yes, God gives government the sword to wield, and we are the government. I've said this for years, but not as well. I'm takin' that line!

Ed, you're right about the "philosophical basis" of the failure of the French revolution. Almost a perfect negative of the American one. Total attempt to overthrow God's authority right down to one your guest did not mention, starting over at Year One.

Our founders looked at history for cause and effects. In the 60's they collected every book they could get from Europe about revolutions. It was sobering. They wrote their concerns about how these progress. Badly. It read like a preview of the the French revolution. I like his illustration about the single dot on a paper, then a series -- the past illuminates present and future.

His example of computer color case took me back to the original iMacs - tangerine, lime, aqua. All the same inside. Good illustration.

He who gets there "firstest with the mostest" wins. I had a great college course on the history of war that detailed that brilliantly. And it leads to a valid point about the pristine natives in canoes -- gonna be conquered by someone stronger who comes along. In the days the bible was written, we get imagery of future war with bows and arrows. But one is very technical in its language (I forget so can't cite the verse) and puts the intelligence in the arrow, not the bowman. An advance we understand that probably did not make sense to the writer.

  3. More levity:
"I'm telling you nothing rhymes with orange."
    "No it doesn't."
